Nordica series is part of the Ultimate range of DLS, ie the high-end brand. These products have been designed for demanding music lovers. As usual, DLS uses a great technology to manufacture these high-end kits. The woofer is built on a chassis with molded ventilation of the mobile. This bowl support a magnetic motor of sufficient size to hold a good power. Thus, the woofer has a fairly consistent depth (72 mm), that will not go into all the original locations. This is not very serious because such a kit is not broke for riding "in a hurry" in a location of origin. To get all the performance, it will take care of the installation: a rigid support preferably MDF, sound location, quality of speaker cable, ... Let's go back to the woofer. The latter uses a new voice coil with copper rings to reduce distortion.

The woofer cone is a cone with Kevlar cover flexible coil. The suspension is provided by a conventional half-roll rubber. To connect the transducer, DLS uses beautiful chrome push terminals. They agree good cable section, and this system is more convenient than the spade crimp. To protect the woofers, DLS delivers a pair of gates and design classes. The tweeter is a small silk dome 28 mm, driven by a motor neodymium. The tweeter is mounted on a cast aluminum frame with room acoustics. Visually, it looks beautiful, but we would have preferred a more protective grid. A nice tweeter, an aesthetic point of view, is not fundamental, but as is often the only visible element of a package exploded, it's always appreciated!

Quite impressive, the crossovers use audiophile components. These filters have a level adjustment with 4 positions to offset potential losses from investments of speakers. The crossovers are rather bulky, they may not always be accommodated in a door trim. The facility will therefore require some work, but it is quite logical for a product like this.

Question performance, cash Nordica 6.2 100 Watts RMS. It also offers a good yield of 91 dB. To take advantage of such a loudspeaker, it is clear that it will use a power amp: amp built into a car will not have the necessary momentum to lead the pack. The frequency response is wide: from 30 to 25,000 Hz with a resonance frequency located at 50 Hz, this kit offers a good DLS held serious. However, it is a 16 cm woofer foremost, it is not done to replicate subwoofers. The latter should be entrusted to a subwoofer. Listening, the Nordica 6.2 is been very successful.

The Nordica 6.2 holds very well the power and offers a dynamic listening. The stamps are natural and accurate. For acute and detailed without being aggressive, detailed mids and airy, grave and strong net, the sound quality is very nice. In our personal taste, we would have liked a "hair" more heat. Even if this does not excuse using a subwoofer, woofer the bass is very well: he has shown really convincing, including techno. Note also a good depth of soundstage between instruments. Overall, a nice play hi-fi that should appeal to many music lovers.
The notice
Located at 779 Euros, this kit DLS is not for everyone. It may seem expensive, but it is a premium product really designed for music lovers. Quality of workmanship and finish, quality components, performance, price of Nordica 6.2 is about average for a product like this. In addition, listening is really musical and pleasant, and should appeal to fans of hi-fi. Of course, to enjoy this beautiful kit broke out, he will need a good amplifier (not just power, musicality as well) and careful assembly. DLS is distributed by Chila Audio.
