The new Nissan GT-R MY 2012 Review

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of the 2012 Nissan GT-R. On sale in Japan from November 24, will arrive in the salons of Europe next January. To summarize: Even more power (550 hp), fuel economy and lower emissions; Exclusive suspension technology on asymmetric right-hand drive models; Refined sensitivity of the exchange; special oils "race" to the differential, reinforced shell for increased maneuverability (for more control); ceramic brakes as an option under (depending on) the model; New Precision woofers Bose ® Sound System, Rear View Camera for parking as standard; New version of "For TRACK PACK" that enhances performance (models RHD). Substantial improvements to the engine, chassis and transmission, plus an original version slight "For TRACK PACK" (currently available only in Japan, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa) that enhances sports performance: these are the new model for the 2012 Nissan GT-R.

The latest version, which goes on sale in Europe in January 2012, is by far the most efficient. The performance enhancement is accompanied by improved fuel economy and reducing emissions, to excite even more exciting for both rider and passenger.

When it was launched, the GT-R created a new type of supercar. Performance and maneuverability (steering control) were of course exceptional, but for the first time the explosive potential of the car was open to all drivers, in any condition. Received with great favor, the GT-R continues to evolve in line with Nissan's policy of continuous improvement.

The model year 2012 is most powerful and innovative features an adjustable suspension that compensate for the asymmetric increase of weight on the side of the steering wheel in the right-hand drive models. Also improved shift feel and maneuverability, thanks to the reinforced body and stiffer.

The range is the new version of "For TRACK PACK" (currently marketed only in Japan, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa) who inherits the DNA of the model V-Spec GT-R and transforms into a two-seater light to blast in the track.

Overview of Nissan GT-R 2012

1. Mechanical Engineering. Engine. For 2012, the GT-R improves efficiency by reducing fuel consumption by 12 to 11.8 l/100 km, while the engine power rises from 390 to 404 kW (550 hp) at 6400 rpm. The maximum torque goes from 612 to 632 Nm from 3200 to 5800 rpm.

Increase the responsiveness of the engine and the torque at low and medium engine speeds, the power and salt at high engine speeds, thanks to: Greater efficiency of the aspiration. Reduction of air resistance by the addition of an intake manifold on the head of each unit and with the use of resin in the intake manifold intercooler plus. Increased efficiency of the exhaust system and improved control. Reduction of air resistance due to a more compact catalyst in the underbody, which limits emissions and weight. Best performance in the cooling of the exhaust valves with the adoption of new valves filled with sodium metal. Also improved the valve timing, the amount of air in the mixture and the injection.

Transmission. The change is more silent and complacent strengthened thanks to the fork arm and a more solid bearing for the flywheel housing. All versions of the GT-R uses a special oil for the differential - R35 COMPETITION 2189E (75W140) - formulated for motor sports.

Scocca. In addition to allowing values higher power and torque, the reinforcement of some areas around the back of the engine block and the dashboard enhances the sensitivity of maneuver, sending the driver a feeling of greater control and grip on the road.

At the same time, improvement of production methods and innovations in structure improve the detection capabilities of the drive dynamics. It has changed the location of the sensors, the body is stiffer and better damped, the vibration tests on individual vehicles was added an acceleration sensor more precisely on the areas most sensitive.

Suspension and brakes. In the right-hand drive versions, the suspensions of the GT-Rs are asymmetrically tuned to take account of the weight of the driver which adds to the drive shaft of the front axle, always placed on the right side. Before, the suspension springs are stiffer on the left side. At the rear, the arm has been installed on the upper left and lower right side. Consequently, the load is unbalanced wheels when the car is stationary, but the distribution to help balance while driving, providing even greater responsiveness and fluidity, combined with a good feeling and a solid steering stability when cornering, as well as a improved perception of comfort (for the right-hand drive versions).

For the GT-R Premium Edition version is available as an option EGOTISTS ceramic brakes NCCB (Carbon Ceramic Brakes Nissan), factory-assembled. This system enhances the agility and roadholding of the car, greatly reducing the weight of the springs and securing the incisive performance carbon-ceramic technology. (Also, drop the prices of spare parts for rotors and pads.)

2. Version "For TRACK PACK". "For TRACK PACK" (currently available only in Japan, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa) is a new version of the GT-R range, designed for customers who want to enjoy a driving experience even more "visceral" at the wheel of Nissan GT-R's.

Created in collaboration with the Japanese company Nordring, provides an ad hoc tuned suspension, upgraded cooling of the brakes (front and rear) alloy wheels and aluminum Rays taken from the Spec-V model (black chrome coated quartz). Exclusively for this edition is installed a front spoiler with carbon fiber air intake.

3. Interior. The interior detail has been carefully designed to achieve quality, starting with the tools in front of the driver, with the tachometer framed by a new blue light, which makes the pendant with gear indicator, creating an atmosphere of sophistication .

All models are standard with the rear camera for parking. The sound system itself with the new Bose ® woofer Precision Sound System, developed for the preparation selfish to optimize sound quality.

To reduce the weight of the car, the configuration is two seats. Behind, where it should be the second row, there is a tufted carpet flooring. The lining of the pair of seats is made of leather and fabric with high friction, developed specifically for the version "For TRACK PACK" to ensure a balance of containment while driving bolder (only on the right-hand drive models). The Nissan GT-R legend continues with the new version 2012.
