Lancia Delta Car Audio Review

Flagship of the range Lancia Delta is heavily loaded with luxury and comfort. If the basic versions are a classic car, the more upscale versions can get a fairly complete multimedia system with navigation, and a hi-fi system with subwoofer!

Nice facility, but a moderately effective subwoofer!

Our trial version, a Delta executive finish was fitted in series of multimedia system developed by Magneti Marelli and Bose stereo system. On other versions, the multimedia option, Instant Nav, sold 1800 Euros. When The optional Bose stereo system is charged 600 Euros. Since our Delta had both, so see this in detail.

The media source itself as a big double-DIN combined with a specific shape to the design of the dashboard of the Delta. With its piano black lacquer finish, its chrome rotary controls and 6.5-inch color screen, this handset looks good and goes well with the design of the dashboard. This item Magneti Marelli is not content to be a simple car multimedia, it also incorporates features settings for the car (eg lighthouses) and a function onboard computer. For ease of use while driving, this position has a separate display in the counter block and a steering wheel. For receiver functions, the source has a dual tuner RDS, MP3 compatible CD player, a multichannel amplifier and the Blue & Me This allows a USB port and Bluetooth support for telephony.

GPS, USB, iPod control, Bluetooth, the source is quite comprehensive

Another interesting point, the Blue & Me includes a voice command, very convenient to call staying focused on driving. Via an optional cord, the USB port can also control an iPod. Priced at the source, the cord could be provided as standard! This handset Magneti Marelli is of course with a GPS with Europe maps on an SD card with TMC to navigate, taking into account the real-time traffic. The Bose stereo system includes a kit with two separate channels of 16.5 cm woofers in each door and a subwoofer. The latter is placed in the trunk under the carpet, inside the spare wheel.

The USB port is placed below the center console
We could do a quick trial run with this car, and thus test the system. In use, the media source appears to be relatively simple and intuitive. Ancillary functions such as trip computer, however, require reading the manual of the car. Although it lacks some modern features like 3D, GPS provides the essential functions of navigation. Its use is relatively intuitive and its guidance is accurate. For part radio, the FM tuner provides excellent reception quality and the CD is in good order. Control of a USB is no problem with easy access to playlists. However, it is unfortunate that the system makes the impasse on the display of album covers, and video functions. An audio / video would have been minimal. Let us now turn to hi-fi. Listening is dynamic and quite pleasant. The stamps are realistic enough, but listening lacks finesse and aeration.

The Bose system offers good sound, but lacks a little finesse

The tweeters are probably to blame. But this is not bad and this will impair the music lovers especially demanding. For cons, the system has serious frankly disappointed. Even pushing the correction of severe maximum, and listening to techno, the subwoofer produces little serious. It's serious, but say they expected something more powerful. Too bad, good food boxes exist, but the Bose lacks dynamics. Perhaps it is the plastic cover not rigid enough, or maybe the boot carpet is choking? If the hi-fi is not standard on the car, it is better to roll onto the market in the aftermarket, which will offer better and better HP subwoofer extraplat. As for the media source, it is hardly changeable since it incorporates features onboard computer. Series is a very acceptable (the video features are not essential for a driver), but this source option Magneti Marelli is too expensive relative to the market in the aftermarket. Overall, this hi-fi and multimedia should meet the general public, but fans of car audio will remain a little hungry.

The subwoofer is not very effective
