Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Car Audio Review

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2011, the new Ford Ranger is a showcase for the comfort of its occupants. Utility legend, it remains, but with its new engine, its equipment, it becomes a very nice vehicle for those who practice outdoor sports. Ford finally has a multimedia system worthy of the name!

Ranger gentrified!

3350 kg towing capacity, large bucket, ground clearance of 230 mm, the new Ford Ranger has lost none of its utilitarian purpose. But a pick-up is also a very practical leisure vehicle for surfing, quad biking, mountain biking ... so far Ford has seen his copy to make it more comfortable and welcoming. This is seen as opening the cockpit door with a more polished, more comfortable, worthy of a sedan after all. Add to this a very successful design of bodywork, new engine TDCi more efficient, and the new Ford Ranger should quickly prove popular among extreme sports enthusiasts. And more so than the Ranger Wildtrak is well equipped with multimedia!

The Wildtrak has a multimedia system consisting of two elements: a central unit at the center of the center console, and a 5-inch color screen in the center of the dashboard. A 7-inch screen would have been welcome, but this monitor has the merit of being well in the field of vision. Of course, this handset has a multimedia steering wheel. For basic functions, it has an FM tuner, a CD player and a 4-channel amplification.

Aiming at a young clientele, the handset's multimedia Ford Ranger also offers good connectivity with mobile sources. Connects to MP3 players, it has a USB port and an auxiliary input. It also features Bluetooth hands-free and A2DP for playing music from a mobile phone. Even better, it also has a voice command to call without releasing the steering wheel.

Finally, to complement this range, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak includes a rearview camera implanted in the tailgate. A small color display housed in the rearview mirror can play video from the camera. The images are materialized with benchmarks to situate the size of the vehicle when maneuvering. Ford made an excellent choice by placing the screen in the rear view camera in the rearview mirror: as we look into it all the time, we enjoy the live action and using the camera in a single glance! For those who like to think outside the box, which sports paraphernalia to carry, the new Ranger is very seductive, and leaves the pickup utility category "raw casting"!
