Generally, in arriving at the Geneva Motor Show, the first thing we do is to run the booth and discover the new Rinspeed concept car. Originality, finish, innovation, Rinspeed concept cars are always exceptional. This year, Rinspeed amazed us again with a recreational vehicle Mehari high-tech way. As usual with Rinspeed, it contained a facility signed JBL and Harman, plus connectivity for mobile sources!
Rinspeed reinvents Mehari in high-tech!
In terms of concept cars, Rinspeed never lacks imagination. Last year we had Rinspeed presented his vision of the Fiat 500. But this year, to respond to emerging trends such as recreation and ecology, Rinspeed has presented us with a kind of modern Mehari operating with an electric motor. At a time when it is fashionable to take the time to live, back to nature and leisure, the Bamboo Rinspeed is simply awesome! Admittedly, this is not a sports car, but his playful style, the alliance of different materials composing the cockpit, his originality, ..., gives the Bamboo immediately want to climb aboard. And more so, it contains a hi-fi and multimedia Harman and JBL with Internet connectivity!
No traditional counter block is a video screen with sensors and instrumentation VDO which gives all necessary information (speed, power reserve, ...) to the driver. If the Bamboo has retained conventional mirrors, she bartered her rearview mirror by a video camera mounted on a gooseneck. At first glance, the dashboard is very simplistic and leaves nothing to see. In fact, the entire entertainment system is hidden behind two sliding shutters. At the center of the dashboard, a first housing receives a multimedia station with 7-inch video screen, while the front passenger glove box includes a dock to accommodate a shelf running Android HTC Touch. Via the touch pad or HTC Smartphone (both 3G compatible), it has Internet features in the car.

If the e-mails, SMS, Android applications or YouTube video type are reserved to the passenger via the touch pad, drivers can still take advantage of Internet services on multimedia station. Aha Radio via the application, it can benefit from Internet radio, an application to locate a charging station for electric motor's batteries, ... stopped, it also benefits from multimedia features and access to its networks such as Facebook. Of course, all the conventional functions such as GPS, radio, wireless hands-free, are present on the multimedia station. No DVD player, high-tech forces, the Multimedia Station and then the music in the Smartphone or the HTC touch pad. An approach quite logical since we are in an era of music and video dematerialized.

Amplification is signed Harman. It was specifically developed to consume very little power to preserve the batteries of the car, while being able to offer a powerful listening. It also includes technology that manages HALOsonic the volume depending on speed. The amp also takes into account the parameters of the car to offer music listening to each passenger. This amplifier powers a 5.1 HP JBL GreenEdge. Not known on the market for aftermarket range, the range GreenEdge HP was developed to provide dynamism and musicality without needing a big boost. As usual for Rinspeed, HP JBL Bamboo receive the gorgeous aluminum chrome grilles that we would like to see on the market for aftermarket.

The front channels are equipped with a kit two separate channels. 16.5 cm woofer is housed in the foot box. Playful design requires the Bamboo, the JBL system does not use conventional tweeters, but the tweeters design butterfly shaped like those of domestic JBL iPod docks. Totally in the spirit of the Bamboo, it gives a touch of fun to install. Also note the presence of a serious concealed and a center channel under the gooseneck of the backup camera. Connectivity, use of mobile sources, dynamic amplification with low power consumption, Internet access, installation foreshadows the future of car audio. Even if the products continue to exist for audiophile enthusiasts, car audio leads surely to these channels for the general public.
