New Mazda MX-5

The English site AutoExpress has published online an image of how it will be the next Mazda MX-5 , starting from the base of a technical drawing submitted to the Journal of the Japanese Patent Office, Tokyo.

The new MX-5, the world's best selling roadster, will be even lighter than the current model, with cleaner lines that recall the original and as always great fun to drive.

AGAIN THE ORIGINAL - This drawing shows how the front will be the new version of the MX-5: the grid will be very different than the current model, it is reshaped by taking inspiration from that of the first version of the MX-5, but the lights will characterized by a special teardrop shape. According to the rumors, and as suggested by this image, the proportions of the new Miata car will be identical to those of 1989 . It is no coincidence that from the outset the objective of the chief engineer Nobuhiro Yamamoto was to lighten the new model and make it smaller in size, while maintaining the same interior space of the current version.

FEATHERWEIGHT - A source has spilled the empty weight of new Mazda MX-5 will be 950 kg , thanks to the use of new technologies SkyActiv chassis and engine. Even the engines will undergo a process of downsize, it will use the new 1.5-G SkyActiv about 125 hp , which promises more than 23 km / l.

COMING IN 2012 - The new Mazda MX-5 will make its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March before arriving in dealerships in the fall .
