Jaguar XKR-S, Sports Car of the Year 2011



The Jaguar XKR-S has been awarded the title "Sports Car of the Year" 2011 by the authoritative German magazine "Auto Bild Sportscars", thanks to the votes of more than 70,000 of its readers. The XKR-S, the most powerful production car ever produced by Jaguar, was measured in the category "Sports Coupe Series" by obtaining 14.3 percent of all votes, with the Mercedes C63 AMG and the Audi RS5. The XKR-S coupe was tested by Auto Bild Nordshleife on the famous Nürburgring, where he shot in just 7 minutes and 51 seconds, and its 5.0-liter supercharged V8 delivers 550 hp and 680 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed electronically limited to 300km / h. To ensure maximum stability at high speeds, the XKR-S is equipped with a unique aerodynamic pack. At the tenth edition of the "Sports Car of the Year" Auto Bild took part in 173 cars in 17 categories, including cars and modified limited editions. In its category, the Jaguar XKR-S has preceded respectable 14 competitors.
