Pioneer AVIC-F920BT

Always at the forefront of technology, Pioneer is launching its new range of fixed NavGate browsers. So that everyone can have a browser perfectly suited to his car, the range comprises no less NavGate 8 models. The AVIC-F920BT, first unveiled, is the spearhead of this new line, with numerous innovations.

The AVIC-F920BT Double Din is a combined standard that can be installed in many cars. Pioneer offers a vast catalog of mounting kit (spacers, steering wheel interface) to equip the cars most common. Big novelty, this new browser Pioneer uses a soft 100% browser developed by Pioneer. Pioneer is thus the first and only brand of fixed navigation software to use its own navigation. This course has been developed to make navigation intuitive and friendly. 

The GPS uses Tele Atlas maps of 44 European countries, with of course a vast library of POIs.To provide reliable traffic info, Pioneer uses Via Michelin, allowing to be guided by taking into account the real-time traffic. This browser uses the latest technologies: text-to-speech, traffic alerts and assistant taxiways, TMC ... All data is stored in flash memory of 4 GB Another innovation, the AVIC-F920BT can use mobile applications for Smartphone (geotagged photos, search for POI by Internet ...). It will now simply transfer data from the Smartphone into the browser. Pioneer has also developed the application NavGate Feeds for the famous iPhone.Finally, to guarantee navigation signals in the absence of GPS, the AVIC-F920BT speed information and uses a 3D gyroscope.

Pioneer has not forgotten the media. It has a beautiful touch screen 6.1 inches WVGA resolution and a DVD player compatible with virtually all formats, including DivX. This handset also has a very good connectivity with mobile sources. It has a USB port, a Micro SD card reader on the front and control the iPod. The latter is of course compatible with the popular iPhone. This control allows playback of audio files, video files and podcasts, all with a display of album covers. Communication are essential nowadays, the AVIC-F920BT is equipped with a hands-free Bluetooth Parrot for telephony. Download directory, AD2P, ..., the function is complete.

This handset has the basic interface NavGate systems, but has been vastly improved to make operation even more convenient. Called Revolution, the new graphical interface allows to use shortcuts 3D even easier and faster to the many features of the device. Aesthetically, this interface is modern and very successful. Note also the choice of 113 colors of light for the keys of the facade to harmonize with the car lights of the dashboard of the car. Finally conclude this presentation by the conventional receiver functions.

The AVIC-F920BT has an RDS tuner D4Q (renowned for its quality of reception), 4x50 watt amplifier, an 8-band equalizer and a crossover, 3 line outputs, a backup camera input, 2 audio / video inputs for connecting other sources, an output video and of course compatibility with the original steering wheel controls. Finally, note that the splash screen is customizable and the handset is protected by a lock code. The AVIC-F920BT sold in 1199 Euros, which is very reasonable given its many benefits. We will have the opportunity to return it with a full test soon. Other models in the range NavGate 2010 will be unveiled in the spring and early summer.In the meantime, we'll let you discover this new handset in our photo gallery!
