Alpine this is a very interesting technical innovation and unique. The Blackbird portable navigator fits inside the double din motorized behind the facade. So navigation is on the big screen by 7 inch double Din, much more comfortable as the screen of a portable navigation. Need the browser in a second car (rental for example), simply eject the Blackbird and use it on the windscreen mount supplied. One investment, and we have two browsers. Begin by presenting the mobile browser. With a beautiful touch screen 10 cm, the Blackbird has a European Navteq mapping stored on a hard disk 6 GB of course, the mapping has the radar sites and a library of POIs. Only criticism she lacks the historical monuments in 3D. However, thanks to the TMC and V-Traffic, you can navigate by taking into account the real-time traffic. With a WVGA resolution, it allows viewing quality markedly superior to conventional screens. For the car, we can talk about high definition. Discover and use: an exceptional screen quality! 

Tested in DVD and Freeview, the video screen has really stuck by its image quality. The image is fine, detailed, colorful, high contrast, short to watch a movie, we enjoy. Listening, it was equally pleased, musicality readers Alpine is well established. Our test car had the Imprint processor and had retained its original speakers. The metamorphosis of listening with the Imprint is still staggering. The integrated amplifier provides sufficient momentum. Attacks are free, but if one likes to listen hard, it'll use the line outputs and a power amp. No problems to report on the tuner, radio reception is very good. The control interface of the iPod is very nice with the display of album covers.

The interface is relatively intuitive, is used very easily on the handset. By cons, we would have liked a more modern graphical user interface, more fun with small icons for the different sources. But hey, this is not essential and Alpine still offers the ability to customize the wallpaper. The telephone function works smoothly, with very good communication. While sailing, the Blackbird has always conducted safely, but we would have liked the modern features such as 3D landmarks and Text to Speech. Operation is simple and routing instructions are accurate. Whatever the sources, the PMD-200505R pack was very pleasant and efficient.

Based on the combined double Din upscale brand, this pack PMD-200505R presents a value very attractive price. In most cases, the package price (1390 Euros the recall) is very much within the OEM price of an option. In addition, the Alpine system allows a browser set in the main car and a PND for a second car, and that with a single investment. Screen Alpine TME-370 Test

Alpine completes its multimedia range with a new screen insert of 16.5 cm. This type of product has long been at Alpine, but the brand has developed a new model extraplat to facilitate integration in places thin (sun visors for example), editing that one could hardly do with other models screens built. The TME-S370 offers more features very interesting!

Many cars are already equipped with an audio system, but fail to address the media. To perform the test on this screen, we tested with a conventional video source (a portable DVD player) and the browser Alpine NVE-M300P (already tested in our columns. As usual, Alpine, screen provides excellent image quality. Colours, contrast, brightness, we enjoy watching a movie. HP offers integrated listening correctly, but for audio / video sources, it is better to use the auxiliary input of a receiver for get sound in the HP of the car. But for navigation, integrated HP is more than enough. The TME-S370 has controlled impeccably browser Alpine, as easily as a multimedia station. Thus, it can be browser quality, much more comfortable than a PND, and especially better integrated.

For assembly, the TME-S370 is not a particular concern. One chooses the integration can be a challenge. But as shown in our photo, you can really consider arrangements in shallow locations. Only criticism, cable from the box on the screen is a bit too thick and rigid. In seat backs or headrests, it will not be a problem, but in a sun visor is a little trickier. The box is compact and can easily fit into a glove box or center console.

Kenwood KSC-SW01 Subwoofer Test

Of the original facility or facilities at small speakers (10 or 13 cm), the bass is often lacking. The solution passes inevitably by a subwoofer, if you want a good record in that register sound. But now, hard to overload the trunk of a small car or family car with a big box! To address this problem, Kenwood has released a subwoofer extraplat: KSC-SW01!

Bass is well controlled and the aluminum casing offers good rigidity. If you push him in the corner, then the sound quality deteriorates, but at the same time, the KSC-SW01 is not made for that.
