Audi Cross Cabriolet Quattro, Car Audio Review

Presented at the Convention Center in Los Angeles, the Audi Cross Cabriolet launches new automotive segment: the convertible SUV. A vehicle innovative, cutting edge electronic entertainment! Audi has not done things by half, because the Cross Cabriolet is equipped with a high-tech multimedia source and a hi-fi Bang & Olufsen!

Internet made its entry into car!

Dream body, subtle marriage between an SUV and a convertible, 240 hp TDI engine with a consumption of bird, the Cross proves that dreams can come true. But come directly to the electronic board, our passion! If the systems Bang & Olufsen are not new at Audi, the media source at the Cross really is, and is even innovative.

Named MMI terminal, the multimedia source of the Audi Cross is located in the center console. For easy use without disturbing the pipe, it is controlled with a rotary control and only 6 keys. In addition, the system has a touchpad for moving the sections of road maps like on a PC or trace the letters with your finger to find a destination.

In addition to the color LCD screen built into the power meter, the driver has a color screen with MMI terminal in the center console for multimedia

This system integrates multimedia course a browser, and it is a big innovation in the automobile, since it uses the Google Earth browser (World Atlas Interactive 3-D). For the first time, Audi combines a classic car navigator and Internet browser, opening up countless opportunities for information to occupants of the car. The high resolution maps and 3D photo-quality give a new dimension to the viewing intuitive and highly detailed view of the sky.

The driver can change at any time the angle of view and the section of the image. Thanks to the Internet, the system will soon download route information such as weather, traffic or air quality. With the search function of Google Earth, you can also find addresses, services (restaurants, hotels, ...) and guided them. It does not even need to enter an address manually, simply click on the image of the interface of Google Earth (photo of the Eiffel Tower for example) so that the browser takes you there.

Using Google Earth browser makes browsing even more convenient

Hi-fi Bang & Olufsen and Internet radio

The Cross Cabriolet borrows the hi-fi B & O of the Audi A8, one of the most advanced OEM systems in terms of sound quality. The heart of the system is an amplifier with an output of 505 Watts. Thanks to a surround algorithm, it processes the signals digitally to provide optimum sound quality for each passenger. With a microphone, the system analyzes the ambient noise level to adjust the sound accordingly. Another innovation, the Audi Cross Cabriolet is equipped with Internet radio allows access to countless radio stations broadcasting on the Net.

Not only the driver has access to more radio, but it can positively or negatively evaluate the titles of music played by simply pressing a button. Thus, the system does offer the driver as radios or music styles that suit their tastes. Somehow, the RDS PTY code that never really worked in France.

Another first in the automobile, the Cross has an Internet radio

This access to the Internet also provides additional data as the album cover, the title and artist name. Strangely, it reminds me of a certain radio-Text on RDS, which also never worked in France. In short, the advent of the Internet in our cars will be a definite plus for multimedia entertainment.

More need to speak out when we roll hair flying, the Cross is equipped with an intercom. 4 microphones capture the voices and render slightly amplified in the vehicle's audio system. To get a refund of natural voices, noises are filtered in a targeted manner by the processor's sound system.
