VW EOS, Car Audio Review

For its first coupe cabriolet automatic retractable roof, VW has made it big on-board electronics. Several sound systems are standard or optional depending on model. From a simple radio with 6 CD changer, in car stereo with USB and iPod Control, via a multimedia system, there's something for every need. The ultimate option is of course the hi-fi system with Dynaudio Multimedia RNS510.

HP hard drive and audiophile!

Like with the Volvo C30, VW has chosen to equip the EOS system with Dynaudio. Being a car for a young and dynamic, the EOS had to have in its catalog, a system capable of satisfying music lovers and car multimedia. The source used RNS510, we have not known since it is also offered on other models in the VW. Well known for its speakers and audiophile speakers, Dynaudio was responsible for developing specific for HP VW convertible.

The EOS incorporates Dynaudio facility with 10 HP and a digital amplifier

The facility consists of 10 speakers. A 3-way team forward, while the rear channels get a kit exploded to 2 HP. The place is counted in a convertible, Dynaudio has had to develop an efficient system and seamlessly integrated into the car. Each front door gets a woofer and a midrange dome. The tweeters are housed in the dashboard. The rear channels are housed in the side walls so that rear passengers benefit fully from the music. This is a kit with separate woofer and tweeter.

30 GB hard drive, DVD playback, navigation, Telephony optional multimedia source offers great benefits

All speakers are powered by a Class D amplifier developing 600 watts. For-tune the installation, this digital amplifier is equipped with a DSP processor. The source is the famous RNS510, a sort of combined with double din touch screen resolution WGA to provide good image quality. Located in the center of the dashboard, this handset offers great benefits. It has an active browser, a DVD player with MP3 capability, an SD memory card reader and well on the radio.

The front doors have a 3-way Dynaudio system specifically designed for the EOS

But that's not all, this source also has a 30 GB hard disk 10 are allocated to shipping while the remaining 20 will store the MP3 music. We also note the presence of an auxiliary input for connecting an MP3 player. European mapping, POI database, TMC, ..., navigation functions are quite extensive. Optionally, you can add a backup camera and telephony.

Between the source and the Dynaudio system, electronics onboard the EOS is appealing. The multimedia system is not yet as comprehensive as the combined double DIN aftermarket, but the effort VW is undeniable. This system is optionally available from 1700 Euros depending on the version of the EOS.
