Mercedes-Benz SLK sports roadster preview



Mercedes-Benz offers a preview of the sporty SLK Roadster powered by diesel. For many aspects, the engine 150 kW (204 hp) positions the SLK at the top of its segment. With a consumption of only 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers, the SLK 250 CDI efficiency became the leader in its category. Thanks to the powerful torque of 500 Nm, the new SLK 250 CDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds, achieving the best acceleration from 80 to 120 km / h, giving an uncompromising driving pleasure, both of mixed suburban routes, motorways than on long trips. In line with other versions of the latest generation SLK, this sporty roadster combines premium and equipment for unprecedented comfort. The new Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 CDI in a decisive manner belies the cliché according to which the diesel engine and emotions driving a roadster does not get along. Its four-cylinder diesel engine capacity of 2,143 cm cubic develops an output of 150 kW (204 hp) and offers 500 Nm of torque - nearly identical to a gasoline engine with over twice the displacement. The SLK 250 CDI diesel engine adopts the brightest in its class, making this roadster capable of performance worthy of a genuine sports car.

The six-speed manual gearbox and, on request, there is also an automatic seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS optimized, allowing progression from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds with top speeds of 243 km / h. The elasticity of the motor can be described as nothing short of exciting. Thanks to the powerful torque, the diesel accelerates from 80 to 120 km / h in 4.3 seconds, reaching values ​​of excellence in its own segment and allowing overtaking and safe.

The Roadster SLK 250 CDI is the most frugal and therefore more environmentally friendly in its class: just 4.9 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers (NEDC combined cycle), equivalent to CO2 emissions of 128 g / km. Thanks to the values ​​expressed by the new engine, the SLK is equipped with a diesel engine that combines the performance of a sports car to the consumption of a city car, compared to driving pleasure and a surprising profit.


The exemplary values ​​in terms of power, torque and emissions, and the surprising silence are the result of the adoption of a rich package of innovative technologies. Among these the fourth-generation common rail injection system with 2,000 bar of pressure in the duct, a perfect synchronization of injection timing and the two-stage supercharging. Like all models in the SLK, the SLK 250 CDI also take standard automatic start / stop. The fuel consumption of the SLK 250 CDI make a car that has excellent qualities over long distances: You can travel the distance that separates the North Sea from the Sea Mediterranean without making a stop for refueling. Sports seats, trim comfortable and more spacious luggage compartment in its class are additional reasons for choosing the new SLK 250 CDI.

Like the other models in the family, even SLK 250 CDI combines striking sportiness, comfort-class, distinctly sporty design and a perfect suitability for daily use with excellent performance and an exemplary respect for the environment. The diesel version promises fun and open-air driving pleasure at the highest levels.

Even for SLK 250 CDI there are three different versions of the famous retractable hard top, among them the retractable hardtop with MAGIC SKY CONTROL Panorama that allows you to darken or lighten the glass roof with a single button. Many versions of trim available: traditional mechanical suspension, stiffer springs and dampers regarding the organization or sport suspension system, electronically controlled fully automatic.

The latter is an integral part of the package also includes the dynamic and direct steering and the Torque Vectoring Brake developed by Mercedes-Benz to enhance the agility and keep full control of the car. Externally, the new SLK 250 CDI has nothing to offer other than petrol versions and then, on a visual level, the same appeal that characterizes the other models, including the dual exhaust rear.
