In the 2019 season of the World Superbike, which will start the next 23-24 February with the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island, Hyundai will provide the i30 Fastback N as the championship's Safety Car . With a power output of 250 bhp delivered by the 2.0 T-GDi petrol (275 bhp with the optional Performance package) and a top speed of 250 km / h, the 5-door sports coupe is preparing to make its fundamental contribution to safety on the track, when bad weather or accidents will require entry, for all 13 races on the calendar.
Compared to the standard i30 Fastback N, this Safety Car has some modifications made by Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing. These include the rear light bar placed in a rearward position to help improve aerodynamics and provide better visibility to the riders that follow, as well as Sabelt bucket seats , 19-inch Active Red and Hyundai Blue rims taken from the i20 Coupe WRC and specific Pirelli P Zero tires with braking system equipped with Pagid pads.
As part of the new partnership between Hyundai and the World Superbike announced last September, on the occasion of the third round of the season scheduled at Motorland Aragón, in Spain, the next 6-7 April will be delivered a fleet consisting of the models i30 N, Kona and Tucson that they will be used for different activities and will be available for the race direction and for the transport of medical personnel.
