Nissan Micra: new NissanConnect infotainment for the MY18


Coinciding with the debut of the MY18 , Nissan Micra welcomes the new NissanConnect infotainment system , updated with regard to content to make up for some shortcomings highlighted by our test last year.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto , for example, are now available as standard on the Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna equipment , whereas before the only protocol available was that based on iOS, but only in the presence of the Nissan Audio base infotainment system.

The MY18 has also brought some news on the entire Nissan Micra range, such as the rear-view mirror with automatic anti-glare (standard on N-Connecta and Tekna) and a new design for the rear parking sensors, now better integrated into the bumper.


The update of the NissanConnect, optional starting from Acenta, provides for the presence of a new touchscreen integrated into the dashboard, with the same dimensions as before ( 7-inch diagonal ) but fewer physical buttons and a new multi-touch functionality (for example for pinch-to-zoom). The operating logic now provides a fully customizable home screen with quick links to the most used functions.

Also present an updated display in the instrument panel to include additional information (for example when you receive a call or text message) and new steering wheel controls , from which you can access more intuitively to voice commands: thanks to a new technology speech recognition is now easier to make a phone call, read a message or control the playback of music.




It also develops the navigation system, with new features such as search on a single line and mode Door-to-Door , which enables customers to set a destination on their smartphone (even remotely) and send it to self start navigation just sitting in the driver's seat. In addition, thanks to the Find My Car feature , you can place on your smartphone the place where the car is parked and start browsing from a smartphone to reach the destination on foot.

Equipped with an integrated TomTom navigator , the NissanConnect system (standard on N-Connecta and Tekna) allows navigation with access to traffic information in real time , with recalculation of the route during the trip to reduce the time. years and transferable to new owners in case of sale of the vehicle, are included also the updates of the maps in over-the-air mode (OTA) , with four free updates per year for a minimum of three years.
