Internet car is no longer a dream but a reality now fully accessible. On its stand at the Paris Motor Show 2010, Orange had numerous ways to use Internet in the car. A solution has particularly caught our attention. This is a unit containing all the functionality of a Smartphone.
For the moment, what we show you is a prototype developed in partnership with Magneti Marelli and Nokia. This is a quite classic car multimedia presentation with a 7 inch touch screen and a connection to connect a Nokia mobile phone. Where's the revolution? Well, the screen unit incorporates all the functions and interface on the phone's touch screen. Everything you do on the screen of Nokia, you can do on the touchscreen. Today, Smartphones contain all our data (music, videos, photos, addresses, telephone contacts). Thus, without complication, Magneti Marelli unit incorporates the entire contents of your cell phone, and allows browsing, telephony, Internet ... For now, it only works with a Nokia phone, but it is certain that type of unit will expand to other smartphones like the iPhone 4. Imagine a 7-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard, which can use all the applications on your iPhone: Revolutionary! We had already heard about the study on this type of development, but that Orange has unveiled a prototype fully functional and very practical: quickly tomorrow.
