Hyundai Genesis Lexicon Car Audio Review

With the Genesis, Hyundai is taking on the big sedans. Hyundai is not only large engine and a luxurious equipment. Like the renowned competitors, the Genesis was equipped with a hi-fi signed by a big name in hi-fi: Lexicon!

A multichannel system!

Genesis will she get a place in the sun among the German or Japanese sedans? To see! In any event, Hyundai has the means to achieve its ambitions as it joined a prestigious group of Harman Kardon multimedia to complete the installation of the Genesis. Certainly, Lexicon is less known to the general public, but this choice will still be noticed as the Genesis is the second car to appeal to Lexicon (the first being the Rolls Royce Phantom). Another is still quite uncommon in the auto market, the Genesis is equipped with a multichannel 7.1.

Big screen, GPS, DVD player, auxiliary input, the source provides fairly comprehensive benefits

Whether OEM or aftermarket installations are rare in 5.1, then 7.1, is even rarer. The basic setup is a 7.1 channel amplifier with integrated DSP. The amplifier provides an output of 528 Watts. The settings of the processor have been optimized so that every passenger enjoys a high quality listening. Good thing, because usually, rear passengers are often the poor relations in terms of listening. Whether it's a DVD in 5.1 or 2.0 CD, the system encodes sound to offer a multichannel listening. No fewer than 17 speakers make up this installation Lexicon. Speakers and amplifier were of course developed specifically for the Genesis.

17 speakers, amplifier 7.1 of more than 500 Watts, Lexicon intends to seduce lovers of hi-fi

17, the figure seems impressive, it makes sense when one considers that only uses Lexicon multichannel systems (treble, mid, ...). Thus, the front doors are equipped with a three-way, while the rear doors are a 2 way. For paths surround the rear deck is also equipped with a kit 2 separate ways. Finally, the center channel is also composed of a woofer and tweeter. Finally, a subwoofer handles the lower frequencies. The whole system is integrated unobtrusively behind beautiful gates, which are based in the linings of the cockpit. The source is no exception and contains the most recent multimedia technologies.

A big knob on the center console to control the system easily

Following the current trend, the source is split into several components: a large color screen in the center of the dashboard, digital player patties in the center of the center console and a knob behind the gearshift lever to control the installation. Genesis also has a steering wheel. The player is compatible, CD, DVD, DVD-Audio and of course MP3. In addition, it has a USB port for connecting a USB or an iPod. There is also a browser, telephony and a rearview camera. Relatively short, a complete installation, where you will also enjoy being able to listen to a concert DVD in Dolby Digital or DTS.
