Navteq and Hyundai Together for Shipping Label

Navteq has been selected by Hyundai supplier is as advanced content for the new navigation platform that allows the calculation of the path "greener" (green route) as well as traditional options "shorter" and "faster". Presented on the new model Hyundai Veloster exhibited this week at the Geneva International Motor Show, this new system will be visible at the NAVTEQ booth (Booth 7000, Hall 7).

Hyundai developed the new software based on NAVTEQ digital map data with the addition of ADAS attributes driving assistance (slopes, heights and radii of curves) that allow to take into account more precise geometric data on the carriageway and the conformation of ground in the calculation of the routes of navigation. All this has also been integrated with data from NAVTEQ Traffic Patterns ™ that can predict when and where traffic jams occur, so you can choose alternate routes when traffic is flowing. Together, these attributes allow the browser to locate the edge of paths with minimum fuel consumption.

Comparative tests carried out on options for calculating the route, "faster" and "greener" in various cities and urban areas like Paris, Frankfurt, New York and Chicago show that the "green route" allows a fuel saving of at least 6% for single trip *. Further investigations conducted by Navteq **, revealed that the "green route" is at the forefront in terms of interest on the part of motorists, followed by eco-driving "or" green driving "(which warns the driver of the speed and gear suited to the particular soil type) and then the predictive cruise control. The majority of respondents would use the "green" at least once a week.

Hyundai also is working with Navteq to widen the catchment area of satellite navigation through communication activities that show how navigation is a viable and capable of reducing the costs related to cars. Navteq encourages consumers to take some time navigation solutions fielding a series of innovative marketing programs designed to facilitate and streamline the ordering by retailers, with the online purchase of map updates, and offering "kit maps" with the objective of maintaining the performance of the sailors at an optimal level through date mapping to retailers or sending communications via e-mail and regular mail updates that alert output.

The new navigation software will be used in the map updates from the group this spring and will allow motorists to use the advanced feature "green route" on a new Veloster.

The navigation system with route calculation Hyundai greener "green route" is seen at the stand NAVTEQ: NAVTEQ, Booth 7000, Hall 7 during the 81st International Motor Show in Geneva: 1-13 March 2011.
