The Bentley Continental GT is one of those cars, where you really can not remove the original car radio. It is not just a matter of aesthetics or of respect for Bentley. The unit also provides the original climate controls, trip computer, ... The radio has a nice screen, but it excludes the video, DVD, Freeview, ... shame on a car of this price at a time when we only speak of embedded multimedia! With OEM interfaces, these little boxes that add functions to a power source, with the Bentley has Hifimobile a video installation Alpine.

 

Integrating vital functions of the car, the source of origin can not be changed

 

OEM interface is a small box that plugs into the original source without changing the wiring. It allows to add a video / audio input to the original source to use the screen to broadcast other sources like DVD. Of course, the source will control the DVD, she is content to broadcast. The video source is selected Alpine DVD changer with a capacity of 6 discs and is compatible DivX. To comply with the magnificent interior of the coupe English Hifimobile has completely dismantled the Alpine screens to repaint their hulls. The hulls are painted the same color as the leather seats. Once the paint dries, the screens are raised as to the origin. The job of integrating video into the seats for rear passengers is no small matter. On the Bentley, the headrests are molded into the seats. Suffice to say that if one misses the cut, the entire seat to be changed. After cutting, the screens are fixed in the seats using the supplied cradle recess by Alpine. The cables are running in the seat to reach the ground and went under the carpet to reach the chest.

It sounds simple to say like that, but Bentley does not remove as easily as our small city to conceal wiring. Front passenger, a video screen Alpine (the same as for the rear passengers) is integrated into the trim of the dashboard facing the front passenger. Again, no right to make mistakes! This video installation required twenty hours of work. The integration work is perfect. Having painted the shells in the same color as the leather, the screens remain discreet. Ultimately, the most obvious is that the passenger before, but again, integration does not shock. Assembly quality is remarkable. With such a system, the driver can enjoy the video on his car home. In the case of the Bentley, the client was satisfied with a DVD changer, but interfaces with Alpine, one could also add DTT, iPod or even shipping. All that to say that even if you keep your original car radio (for aesthetic reasons or obligation), we may well enjoy the latest multimedia technologies without significantly altering a car. Show car Daihatsu Materia Rockford Fosgate

 

 

It's the Car + Sound of Cologne that we discovered this wonderful show for Rockford Fosgate. This car was once seduced us in more ways than one. First, the Daihatsu Materia is an unusual base. Second, it provides an exceptional facility.Thirdly, it is not the work of the brand, but a young installer!

 

In the big leagues!

 

Indeed, this installation was performed by a young installer of 21 years, Dennis Garage boss of Sound in Germany. And when we see that the installation has done on this car, it can Embler to play in the major courses. The Rockford Fosgate Materia was certainly one of the finest show cars in Cologne. The car is original enough of herself, she received no surface preparation except for a low suspension and 17 inch wheels with big tires. In Japan, this Daihastu calling Matrix, she received a decoration in the spirit of the famous movie. In the decoration on the body, we can distinguish the letters of the American brand of car audio. Inside, the same struggle, the facility adopted a style as original as futuristic.

The changes are such that the car is worthy of being exposed to ESC. But let's start the presentation in order. The cabin was completely dismantled and the rear seat was removed to make room. The original car radio with a specific form, a carrier is re-painted body color fiber to accommodate a double DIN Nav DSS-1. To enjoy the video and backup camera, a 7-inch screen is integrated SAVV above the rearview mirror. At each end of the dashboard, installed a medium of 13 cm to have a good soundstage. The tweeters are placed in the upright windshield. For high frequencies, the front doors are two 16.5 cm woofers T 162. To reproduce the atmosphere Matrix, each front door is equipped with a 7-inch video screen broadcast images of the Matrix. Behind the front bucket, an aluminum frame welded and bolted on the car home decor fiber to house all the amplifiers of the installation. Diez green LEDs accentuate the futuristic atmosphere. Belonging to the Power Series, these amps combine compactness and power. It sounds simple like this, when you see the pictures, but much work has been done to create the interior of the car. The rear doors are equipped with a kit supplied by a burst T162 T600.4 amp. The other two channels of this amp animate the coaxial rear, used to the sound environment for demonstrations meeting. Any place of the trunk and back seat is occupied by a futuristic setting in the spirit of the movie Matrix. The highlight of this facility is the tail that was mounted on a motorized rack. A simple press of a remote control to open the rack out of a good sixty centimeter. All this was built on a metal structure covered with fiber and resin (body color of course). The rear of the rack receives a subwoofer to a subwoofer 38 cm.

The other two subwoofers are mounted in the installation cabinet with closed head visible in the sides of the car. Finish black leather and white fiber decoration provides the main installation. Each subwoofer is fed by a single block T1500.1db. To accentuate the futuristic side of the facility, the LEDs are green Dietz carefully concealed to illuminate the facility. We also appreciate the ringed sheaths concealing the cable of the subwoofer, this is very much reminiscent of a spatial piping. Rockford Fosgate logo light, mixed angular and rounded, the finish of the installation has been particularly careful. One of the biggest jobs was of course the engine hatch with electric actuator system.

Needless to say, to return such a large facility in a small cabin was not an easy task. But Dennis did very well out. The entire installation is back on a medium frame and metal bar. For a young installer of 21 years, this achievement is really impressive, and proves that Dennis (assisted by his wife Laura, the recall because it is not common), has acquired a solid expertise in car audio installation . This is obviously not her first film, but this is probably the most successful yet. We say for now, because during our visit to the garage of Sound, a car was being undressed for an upcoming project. Top secret for now, but we will present it once it is finished. Anyway, one thing is sure, the Materia Matrix Dennis would not unworthy in a CES or Sema Show in the United States. Show car VW Golf IV Kicker

 

It is at the Cologne Fair in April, we discovered this beautiful and original Golf Kicker's booth Audio Design (importer in Europe of the famous U.S.). Kicker has always communicated by conveying a lifestyle extreme sensations around its products. This show car responds perfectly to this philosophy. We tried it for you!

Ride the Best, F.. K the Rest!

Is the motto of Denis of XTC Concept that made this show car. Well known in Germany for its preparations on the basis of the VW group, Denis is in its eighth project. Any realization tuning was made by XTC, but the hi-fi has been assigned to a car audio shop well known in Germany: ASD Reupke! We have already presented several show cars, this store was made for the CAB group. We move quickly on customizing the car, since it is not our field. But to say a few words, it was conducted in an extremely understated. Admittedly, the decor is quite showy with its spirit Street, but the Golf does not change body proportion. The main changes were made using parts of Bora. Kicker has always provided a way of life music at the same time as the extreme sports, golf Denis has been prepared in this state of mind. The hi-fi was performed with the same spirit of moderation, that is to say without using a ton of stuff. While the interior has been revised in mind racing: Momo steering wheel, bucket seats with harness, ... The classic black plastic were covered with beautiful white alcantara.

The source of the plant is a combined double din Pioneer FH-P80BT. Good CD player, compatible with portable devices, Bluetooth phone, it perfectly meets the expectations of young consumers. It has naturally been housed in the center console. To get good bass in the front, this installation uses the principle of dual woofer door. The front channels are formed by a separate kit 2 way Kicker RS65.2, supplemented by a pair of woofers 16.5 cm in the same range. After sound of the door trim has been remoulded by respecting the original design to integrate the woofers and passive filtering. These speakers are powered by a Kicker ZX650.4 4-channel amp, two channels are dedicated to the kit exploded while two other animate the woofers. No way back on this installation! For installing car audio, ASD Reupke spent about three weeks on the Gulf of Denis. Without labor, installation costs about 3200 Euros. It develops a power of about 1500 Watts RMS. Denis Golf is not a show car salon that carries only one trailer, the car is running on a daily basis.The facility had to remain realistic, especially since this preparation (and its personalization) reflects this beloved of young Germans. While overall, the car requires a certain budget, but the principle of ASD Reupke and XTC is to make cars that young fans can consider doing. If we total of what has been done on the car, even including the assembly, we stay in reasonable amounts to have a nice car and original young. Many times we have seen projects much more expensive, yet not as successful. And as regards the show as kicker for the salons, the Golf Denis had to respect the spirit and the image conveyed by Kicker. Whether the look or listen, it's successful mission to 200%! Hertz show car Fiat Grande Punto

 

At fairs in Sinsheim Car + Sound, Hertz has always accustomed to coaches shows magical. But for 2011 AMICOM in Leipzig, the famous Italian brand has excelled in presenting this amazing racing car, containing a powerful setup. This show car was designed to promote the new range of HP high-power, developed for the thrill seekers. Whether for listening or finish, the show was undoubtedly the most impressive because of AMICOM 2011!

A formidable power with very clear sound!

But what does it cover in this impressive shell dull gray? Well, this is a Fiat Grande Punto "bodybuildée" with a body kit homemade. Hertz SPL supplementing its range (subs and amps) with a range of HP high power, the Italian brand wanted to show that we could make a very powerful facility with great sound quality. And to attract fans, Hertz had put the dishes in the major. This show car was created by Master Training Institute Elettromedia. Maurizio Monaco was responsible for customizing and installing hi-fi, while Sergio Galassi (Elettromedia Demo Car Manager) designed the system. The painting was done by Danilo Todini. Question processing, they have not been dead hands: custom body kit, big spoiler, lowered suspension, LED lights, power meter on the hood, big wheels Mack, accessories Sparco, ...) The photos speak for themselves themselves, such as Fiat has become impressive and looks like a stealth aircraft. The 4 subwoofers are mounted in the wall in a bass reflex behind the pilot's seat. Alpine show car Subaru Impreza

At the trade fair in Leipzig AMICOM Alpine presented his latest on a Subaru Impreza, prepared in true spirit "Import Racer." Choice makes sense, is a partner of puisqu'Alpine movie Fast And Furious 5 and organizes a huge contest on the occasion of its release in European theaters. The Impreza was certainly among the most beautiful cars of AMICOM 2011!

Multimedia and hi-fi!

For this installation, Michael Frass has used the latest flagship of the range, including the new multimedia handset INA-W910R and DSP PXA-H800.

The dashboard has been remoulded to accommodate the double-DIN and control processor

INA-W910R is a multimedia handset with double DIN 7 inch touch screen. This is the big brother of the INA-W900R, and we will have the opportunity to present it in detail shortly. To incorporate it into the dash of the Impreza, the center console has been completely redone. On the multimedia unit can find the remote processor PXA-H800 can make all the sound settings.Fiber painted body color, leather upholstery and Alcantara, the finish of the dashboard is remarkable. The combination of leather and Alcantara enables a mix of absorbent and reflective surfaces, which improves the acoustics of the car. Amp and processor are embedded in the back seat

The grave was assigned to two subwoofers 25 cm. These are mounted on the rear deck. This necessitated a very large integration work, since it is never easy to put big HP on a car rear-body sorting. This is a show because you like them! It is sufficiently original and attractive without being too "showy." In addition, it uses a reasonable facility, it's not a riot equipment as seen often. A good multimedia system, an adequate amplification and a 5.1 system, it is certainly not the installation of "everyman," but this is very reasonable for a show car. Except that the assembly is made to be demonstrative, enthusiasts may well consider such a facility in their car. In short, a sort of alliance between dreams and reality! This facility, perfectly set off by a very neat installation, is designed to provide a powerful and hi-fi. Whether a concert DVD or CD, it exudes a very exciting listening. But the dilemma is choosing between listening to the installation and the roar of the engine that drives this "heat pump"!

Installation The Audi A4 S-Line by Pioneer

In the spring, Pioneer PRS has renewed its range, range dedicated to hi-fi enthusiasts. The amplifier 4 channel we had left a good impression during the test.To discover the new PRS speakers, we decided to try the Audi A4 S-Line from Pioneer, with precisely this new product line.

Pioneer Auditorium on 4 wheels

Technology with the first Ice Power amp for car audio, the new range of Pioneer PRS has put the dishes in large to meet the expectations of music lovers. Enthusiasts looking foremost integrated products and music, Pioneer has a simple installation, relatively reasonable investment (relative to some hi-fi up the price of a small car), and perfectly integrated to not interfere with the car use.

Presentation: a custom installation and unobtrusive
Hi-fi automobile often difficult to attract the general public who mistakenly believe that a change in depth of a car to his inside. However, a car for every day, must remain functional, and even discreet enough to cause risk of theft.

This misconception about hi-fi board is conveyed by tuning cars very demonstrative, too often placed on the front of the stage. But the hi-fi car is quite another thing, and it can be done without putting a ton of equipment in the car. Pioneer we had a very nice demonstration.

A cache has been molded to perfectly integrate the DEX-P90RS in center console

The brief was very simple, so you can say you had to get a very musical listening without making big changes on the car, so that it remains close to the origin. As this is a hi-fi, Pioneer has opted for a relatively simple system: three front channels and subwoofer channel tracks.

The screen in front of the gear lever is only there to navigation

We swear an original mounting. DEQ-P90 processor being connected by fiber optics to the source and controlled by the latter, it was hidden under a seat.

A chest 100% functional
For amplification, Pioneer uses three models of the new PRS range. These work in digital and use Ice Power technology developed by B & O. This has many advantages: low power consumption, higher power, low heat and especially a very compact size.

The three amplifiers are housed in a rack on the trunk floor. They are then hidden by the carpet rigid origin. The rack can of course be raised to access the spare tire. Thus, the amps do not fear the blows when loading the trunk, and it remains usable. These hot little amp, this poses no problem running.

Compact and thin, the amps are located between the trunk floor and floor mats

The amplification is composed of two two-channel amplifiers (PRS-D200) and a four-channel model (PRS-D400). The four channels is responsible for leading the midrange and treble for the front channels. The first two channels is responsible before the woofers, while the second is to facilitate bridged mono subwoofer.

The trunk is fully used and the installation is invisible when opened in a public place

For channel bass, Pioneer used a 25 cm subwoofer range ODR, the cream of the crop in the catalog Pioneer. Wishing to use the safe storage of the left flank to integrate the subwoofer in the trunk, Pioneer needed a powered subwoofer in a small volume, and especially thin. TS-W01RS corresponded perfectly to that use because it can operate in a volume of 14 to 28 liters.

The box is custom made to fit the lost volume of the left rear fender

To do this, an imprint of the wing was made with cardboard to make fiberglass the bottom of the box. Several layers of fiber were providing sufficient rigidity. The front is made of 22 mm medium and painted black. The lid of the storage box has been discreetly modified to include a grill speaker cloth through which the sound.

Change the doors to a minimum
Before modifying at least the car he was out of question to redo the door panels tailored to accommodate the three-way kit. Recall that the latter consists of a pair of 28 mm tweeters, a pair of medium of 10 cm and a pair of woofers 17 cm. The woofers are mounted in original locations at the bottom of the doors.

Mediums have been top of the doors. The orientation was chosen to deliver the best possible sound image. A fiber support painted in color of the interior was molded in the shape of the door trim. For now, the speakers are visible, but a small grid stretched canvas will protect them from prying eyes.

Not wanting to redo the door panels, the support has been designed to match the trim without sacrificing aesthetics

The tweeters are integrated in the upright windshield, always with a precise choice of angle of orientation for imaging. They are also mounted on a fiber painted on the linings of the amounts of the windshield. They could be molded directly into the lining of the amount of the windshield, but the system remains well removed without having to change the fittings for the resale of the car.

Listening: High Fidelity simply
Tested with different types of music, the facility provides a really excellent musicality. It is really in the audiophile category. The first thing you notice is the quality of the stamps, the installation sounds realistic, true. We also liked the sound details, it seems to feel the guitarist's fingers on the strings run. It's open and airy, it has a nice sense of space, depth between instruments.

This facility gives Pioneer a lot of fun to listen

We really feel the bass is totally forward, not back. Any disturbing vibration is felt, just the serious need for music is there and in front. The subwoofer is well connected to other speakers.The subwoofer is present.

Although the subwoofer in the trunk, the grave is well ahead

Dynamic question, PRS amps give very good results, it lives, it's rhythmic. The soundstage is wide, and no hole in the center, at the right height for the ears. The focus and settings for the processor are many.

A good example of realistic hi-fi
This installation is simple in its configuration: front channels and subwoofer channel in assets. No accumulation of equipment, Pioneer has just necessary for audiophile listening. This facility is fully integrated and does not disturb the use of the vehicle.

In conclusion: A reasonable facility
Although more than 5000 € is a substantial sum, it is still very reasonable compared to what we can see in this category of hi-fi. Only the source and processor, have a high price (although justified). Taking the elements separately, the new PRS products offer excellent value for money (for example, less than 500 Euros for the 4-channel amplifier), given their performance.

Musicality, strength, beauty of stamps (particularly the female voices), sense of space is a beautiful facility that provides a lot of fun. For all these reasons, this Audi is truly exemplary in promoting true hi-fi to the general public.
